PCS PulseWorx UPB LED/CFL Dimmer Wall Switch, 600W

The WS1DL was designed to solve the difficult task of figuring out the right dimmer for the different light sources on the market today. It will operate LED and CFL lighting, as well as fluorescent, inductive, magnetic LV loads, and the most popular incandescent and halogen lights too.

Adjustable Minimum Dimming Level (MDL)

Each unit has been preset to 30%, however the Minimum Dimming Level can be set individually for the specific type of load using UPStart.

Keeps Lights On As They Are Dimmed

When LED's and CFL bulbs are dimmed, they will occasionally turn off before you reach 0%. This is called "drop out," making it awfully difficult to set the dimmer at the right level without light turning off.

Lights Will Come On At All Levels Above MDL

After dimming to a low level or switched off, regularly CFL or LED bulbs will not turn on until it is brightened above the MDL. This is called "pop-on," which is particularly demanding in 3-way situations where lights can be turned on/off from different locations.

Enhanced Noise Immunity

Generation I devices sometimes would not respond, even manually, if there was a certain amount of noise on the powerline. Generation II now alleviates this type of situation.

Reduces Flicker Issues

All types of lights can be affected by surges. Incandescent bulbs can dim or flicker in this type of situation. Dimmable LED and CFL's can actually turn off or flicker excessively, however this profile is optimized for line voltage fluctuations.

Now you can adjust the receive sensitivity in UPStart to improve communication in excessive powerline noise.

Top Rocker Max-Out

Tap the top once for the load to ramp up to its preset light-level. Tap it once more for the load to ramp up all the way to 100%.

Manual Setup

Now you can enable or disable dimming, the on-level and fade rate with simple taps of the rocker switch.

Operation

Tapping its paddle style rocker switch will turn on and off the lights while holding it down will fade the lights up and down. Separate light levels (anywhere between 0% and 100%) are chosen for single-tap and double-tap events. Along with sixteen selectable, fade rates – from instant on to one hour – to give you the ultimate flexibility.

Three-way (or multi-way) light switch functionality can be obtained by connecting one (or more) RWS "remote" switches (sold separately) to its yellow traveler wire.

Receives From the Powerline

Each Dimmer may be a member of 16 individual scenes, 250 different scenes per system, with the capability to store a specific pre-set on level and fade rate for each scene will enable you to experience the elegance of a sophisticated system at a fraction of the cost.

A fully configurable multi-color, Blue, Magenta, Red or Off, LED is provided on top of the rocker for finding the switch in the dark, follow the on/off state or act as a powerline signal indicator.

Transmits To the Powerline

The WS1DL can also be configured as a two-button transmitter. Select from a list of commands to be transmitted when each rocker button (top or bottom) is tapped, held or released. This allows the WS1D to remotely control other devices or update indicators (LEDs on our keypads).

Easy To Configure

Like all PulseWorx devices, the WS1's are pre-programmed to be a member of seven standard scenes, 100, 80, 60, 40, 20, 0 and Blink. Each pre-set level is easily adjustable by using the innovative PulseWorx manual programming method. Advanced configuration capabilities are available by using PCS's free UPStart Setup Software. UPStart enables configuration parameters such as Network Name, Network ID, Unit ID, Room name, Device name, default on light levels, fade rates for each scene, LED colors, dimming disable, auto shut-off timer and receive sensitivity etc. As well, as test the operation and communication strength of each device. UPStart has the option to configure an entire network off-line and then download the information into the devices after installation.

PulseWorx Lighting Control System

The Wall Switch Dimmers are designed to be an integral part of a complete PulseWorx Lighting Control System. Like all PulseWorx devices, the WS1DL uses the patented UPB powerline communication technology (invented by PCS) to reliably communicate with any other UPB-compatible device(s) over the existing house electrical wires. No new wires are necessary making PulseWorx perfect for retrofit situations. When initial configuration is complete, a single push of a button is all you need to activate any group of lights (or virtually anything else that connects to AC power wiring) throughout the house simultaneously.
