PCS PulseWorx UPB Receiving Module

The RM-0-10V is a small module designed to be installed in lighting fixtures to enable control of the fixture by controllers that implement Relay Dimming. The controller communicates to the RM-0-10V using a pattern of relay open and close events to change the lighting level to one of the preselected levels or to increase or decrease the current light level.

The RM-0-10V does not contain an address or other identifying information that the transmitter must know to communicate with it. This means that any RM-0-10V can be installed in any fixture and does not need to be programmed before or after installation.

If the transmitter powers more than one LED fixture install a RM-0-10V in each fixture.

When LED fixtures are installed in office or residential locations it is best to provide a way to change their illumination level for different usages of the space especially since LED lighting can be perceived as much brighter than the lighting it replaces. Common LED drivers have a 0-10V control signal as an input to the LED fixture to set its illumination level, where the voltage level is proportional to the illumination level.

Connected to the fixture power is a small low-cost receiving module, RM-0-10V that monitors the power line for these messages and translates them into the 0-10V input of the fixture. The receiving module is very resilient in detecting these power line markers as it uses a patented method of evaluating the power line. Even in situations where the power line noise is present, it will not miss the start and stop marks nor will it interpret missing power line cycles caused by external factors that fall outside the marks it is looking for.

To test the RM-0-10V installation use the WS1C wall switch or KPLC keypad to verify correct operation. The fixture should dim or brighten using the paddle of the WS1C or the keypad buttons of the KPLC.
